I was just going to compost it, but now I see no harm in planting it in a pot and seeing what (if anything) happens. But then a freak cold spell (which I should know we have one every few years) kills the ginger. I can't believe it didn't occur to me to just grow it in a pot! Thanks and now I must go plant some ginger. :)Lisa Carroll-Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10273095136947961386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8750393598527843244.post-51887555400497325472010-10-11T00:15:03.682-07:002010-10-11T00:15:03.682-07:00ruth

I just bought 2 more pounds to plant here, $1.38 a pound. They already have little buds on them. It is not organic and maybe irradiated but over the years it will come clean and be sustainable.

I got the idea from www.tropicalpermaculture.com/growing-ginger.html

Can't wait to see a ginger flower this year since I am going to give it all my resources this time, instead of leaving it in a corner to see what it will do.Ruth Trowbridgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02504906924681540699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8750393598527843244.post-89412710255808441032010-10-10T14:25:38.012-07:002010-10-10T14:25:38.012-07:00I have ginger growing in my yard but I admit I'...I have ginger growing in my yard but I admit I've never harvested and used it, just been enjoying the blooms!
