Paradise Awaits
Hello my name is Ruth and I have been gone a long time.
It was hard for me to suppress my need to write and garden all day long. Everyday the idea for a blog entry is pop into my head, to be pondered with relish and released.
There is burdock in my meadow over 6' tall and the grass is the front yard is so tall we can't see the huge lilies who are in bloom right now. My best chicken hatched 13 chicks, the black ones with little yellow bums.
I did fret about the food plants passed by or neglected. The grape vine will overtake my apple and plums trees again from lack of pruning. I do see the worry was misplaced as the wacky cold and wet weather would have made any efforts on my part a waste of time.
Partly a relief and partly a curse I put off major house cleaning for the past couple of months. I sure can see what needs to be done. So happy, finally no agenda but my own.
I went for a walk today, anywhere I pleased, free as a kid. I counted 22 different types of blooms of wild plants and flowers. I ate saskatoons, cherries, currents, gooseberries, salmon berries and raspberries, although probably not wild I did not plant any of them in my 10 years here.
And boy are my critters happy!! My dog especially noticed my daily preoccupation and absence from farming. Some chickens who usually never come for walks joined us today. It must have been some sight 6 chickens, 2 roosters, 2 tom turkeys, 3 cats, the pitbull and the farmers wife in a cotton housedress meandering through the forest searching for berries.
I can't wait to catch up with you all and answer my comments.
What have I been doing? More and pictures to follow.
Peace
