Definition of a prepper:
Prepper (noun): An individual or group that prepares or makes preparations in advance of, or prior to, any change in normal circumstances or lifestyle without significant reliance on other persons (i.e., being self-reliant), or without substantial assistance from outside resources (govt., etc.) in order to minimize the effects of that change on their current lifestyle.

This is all news to me, can you imagine my surprise? Who'da thunk it?

I have two 'friends' that are preppers. They buy hoards of dehydrated meals (a year's worth), ammo, guns, tents, out of the way property, etc. They are waiting for Armageddon I think. Yet, they don't know squat about growing a garden or eating healthy food. One 'friend' traveled with my DH last May on vacation and didn't even bring a coat, car jack, water, food, blanket, etc. His truck broke down .. he was terribly mad at my DH for taking so long to send help (from a mountain pass in Montana) .. go figure ;( Being well stocked .. does not equal common sense.
