With biointensive food production, each adult person requires only a 10th of an acre of growing space to produce his or her yearly food intake! This small space can supply all the calories and the nutrients for a complete diet.
Biointensive gardening extracts the necessary nutrients from the soil and simultaneously puts them right back in. Biointensive gardeners use less water, create cleaner runoff water after garden use and they essentially "grow" the soil they are using. ReplyDeleteMr. H. you are welcome. You are the most knowledgeable gardener I know, so pleased you found it of interest. I just heard on the radio today 1 billion people (1 in 6) are starving. I look around my yard, after filling every nook and cranny with food and botanicals, to see pounds of grapes on the vine, apples and the ground, bushels of wild greens and mushrooms all feeding the ground. You and I know the solution is as cut and dry as the seasons turn. It was great to see a glimpse of your house in the last pictures. I too am shy to show my house as it pales in comparison to nature. We built a road up to the back of our property this week, an excavator 24 hours, now we can get to the back 5 acres. It is a cliff face and I had only been up there 3 times in 9 years. It is like finding the motherload a whole pasture of young evergreen and berry bushes. Not many would understand my joy. Peace for all
